AFAM Adults Needs Survey

The Adult Services Committe of Advocates for Autism of MAsschusetts is compiling information concerning the needs of individuals ages 14 and older who had an Autism Spectrum Disorder and have needs or will have needs for intensive and specialized day, employment, and residential supports when they reach the age of 22.

AFAM is concerned that services for adults with ASD in Massachusetts currently are insufficient and, as the number of adults with ASD in Massachusetts grows, the lack of services will be exacerbated.  It is our hope that data generated by this survey will help us make the case to state officials regarding the need for increased services.

The survey is not targeted to individuals with ASD who are living or expect to be living relatively independently as adults.  The Adult Services Committee expects to conduct furthing surves in the future targeted to a broader nunber of adults or young adults on the spectrum concerning a number of topics.  This first survey is directed at a narrower group of individuals as described above.

The survey is available in an online format or can be downloaded and completed on paper and then mailed to AFAM.  It just takes 15 minutes to complete.  Link:  http://afamaction.org/adult.html.
